Dr. Morris Herzstein Professor, Department of Biology, Stanford University & K36 Scientific Advisor

Dr. Gozani is the Morris Herzstein Professor of Biology in the Department of Biology at Stanford University.  Insights and discoveries made in Dr. Gozani’s lab have uncovered pivotal roles for protein methylation in the regulation of chromatin biology, cell signaling and human disease. He has a particular focus and expertise that centers on the function of MMSET and H3K36 methylation dynamics in cancer epigenetics.

 

Dr. Gozani received his BA in molecular biology at UC Berkeley and his MD and PhD degrees from Harvard Medical School.  He completed his post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Gozani is a scientific co-founder of EpiCypher, Inc. and serves on the company’s board of directors.
