Miriam Barnett, Ph.D.

Director, Clinical Science

Dr. Miriam Barnett brings over 12 years of experience in academic research and the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise spanning clinical research, bioinformatics, and pharmacology. Most recently, Miriam served as the lead Clinical Scientist at Myeloid Therapeutics, where she played a key role in advancing two novel in vivo CAR therapies from drug candidates to clinical trials.

 

Prior to her work at Myeloid Therapeutics, Miriam completed a prestigious Worldwide Medical Fellowship at Biogen, where she excelled in communicating and engaging with Key Opinion Leaders, sharing insights on novel therapies and fostering collaboration within the scientific community. Miriam also has a strong passion for computational data analysis, demonstrated through her work at the USDA, where she curated and managed NGS data to identify candidate resistance genes between plant fungus and grapevine—further highlighting her ability to leverage bioinformatics for impactful research.

 

Miriam holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo, a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Pharmacology from University of Rochester Medical Center.  Her commitment to advancing cancer therapies for patients with limited or no treatment options is at the heart of her work, driving her to make a meaningful impact in the field and offer hope to those in need.
